CoRSAL Word Cloud featuring Community Collectors, Language Documentation Workshops, Archivist in Residence, Fieldtrips, Library and Information Science Curriculum, Mediated Archiving, Legacy Collections, Interlinear Text Analysis, CoRSAL Occasional Publications, Social Media for Community Engagement, and Multilingual Metadata

Your contributions to the Chelliah-de Reuse CoRSAL Excellence Endowment directly support the celebration of linguistic diversity in South Asia where hundreds of languages are spoken by communities of less than 10, 000 speakers. These languages express the unique worldviews of these speakers.
CoRSAL works with speakers to curate, preserve, and disseminate stories, speeches, poems, songs, and photographs.
The description and maintenance of these languages is made possible with the resources created and stored in the CoRSAL archive.
Languages go silent each year because they lack such resources. This is a loss for communities, but it is also a collective loss of our intangible yet shared heritage.

Your contributions will support:
  • UNT student training and internships
  • Training for community language documenters in collecting and managing community memory
  • Step-by-step assistance to depositors in bringing their materials into the CoRSAL archive
  • Linguistic and Information Science research based on the CoRSAL process and materials
